Visiting the Sikh Temple

Reading the Guru Granth Sahib at the Spokane Sikh Temple/Tracy Simmons

Today the Sikh’s celebrated their holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib. Three days ago the community began reading the text aloud, and in rotations, have read it continuously.  The reading concluded today, and the Sikh’s celebrated with a ceremony and a community meal.

Sikhs believe that the text is the final and eternal Sikh guru.

A local Sikh has offered to write a more detailed explanation for Religion News Spokane, which I will post in a few days.

Until then, you can read more about Sikhism here.
