Meet Pearce Fujiura, our Buddhist contributor

Blogger Pearce Fujiura

Pearce Yoichi Fujiura is a 28-year-old fourth year veterinary student at Washington State University in Pullman. He grew up in the small town of Sunnyside, Wash. and has a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Wildlife Ecology and a minor in Japanese.

He’s been an active member of the Buddhist community for 13 years.

“I am a SLAM poet and a distance runner, and have had an interest in theology my whole life,” he said.

Fijiura’s been published as a student editor for the WSVMA journal and as a contributing poet for the New York poetry magazine Tickled by Thunder.
