M. C. Paul is a freelance writer based in Spokane. She has a Bachelor of Arts in communications with a minor in English from Lyon College and a Master of Arts in pastoral ministry from Gonzaga University. She also completed a two-year training program in spiritual direction and has tutored English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for well over a decade.
Her interest in all things religious began early. Her father was a preacher, and as a “PK” she received an early immersion in theological thinking. Her mother was a biblical literalist from the Deep South who enjoyed engaging in religious discussion. One such conversation led Paul to ask rhetorically, “If God really did write the Bible – don’t you think He could have done a better job?”
She is fascinated by the use, misuse and abuse of Scripture in political discourse particularly around issues of sexuality and ethics. What could be better than a lively discussion of sex, politics and religion…unless perhaps it’s all three?
